Cynthia’s story is a powerful journey from addiction, confusion, and emotional collapse to the hope she found at Pacific Garden Mission.
From the time she was a child, Cynthia lived in an environment surrounded by addiction, chaos, and brokenness. At PGM, she found safety, support, and the strength she did not know she had. She now knows that God has a plan for her life and that she does not have to walk through her struggles alone.

Leyra came to Pacific Garden Mission after months of homelessness and sleeping in her car, feeling alone, hopeless, and forgotten. Every day brought more tears, more fear, and more loneliness as she sat in her car with nowhere to go. When she called 311, they could not find a shelter for her at first. Then she received a call telling her that Pacific Garden Mission had space. Today, Leyra says that Jesus is her Father, her best friend, and her everything.
