It is amazing how God works all things together for His glory.

Since 1950, Unshackled! has been a staple on Christian radio, sharing dramatic testimonies of lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through these true stories, countless listeners have found hope, placed their faith in Christ, and experienced the freedom that only He can give. For some, those broadcasts have become much more than inspiring stories. They have become the first step that eventually led them through the doors of Pacific Garden Mission.

Tim shares, “I first came to know Unshackled! through WMBI in 1995. I listened to the radio drama every chance I got. Last year, while I was in detox at a hospital clinic, I was praying and asking God to help me. During that time, the Lord brought my memories of Pacific Garden Mission back to mind. I called, interviewed, and was accepted into the program. Through Unshackled!, God met me at one of the most pivotal moments of my life.”

Duane tells a similar story. “I first became aware of Unshackled! in the early 1980s and listened regularly for several years. As life took me in a different direction, I stopped listening. Then, after moving to Illinois three or four years ago, I began listening again. That’s when I learned about the Men’s Bible Discipleship Program at Pacific Garden Mission. I remembered it as I found myself slipping into homelessness. I first came to the shelter and later inquired about joining the program. It has been a wonderful opportunity to study God’s Word. I thought I knew a great deal from years of listening to Christian radio, but this program has opened my eyes to a much deeper understanding of the truths of Scripture.”

God uses many different people, circumstances, and ministries to lead men and women through the doors of Pacific Garden Mission. We praise Him that since 1877, those doors have remained open, proclaiming the same unchanging Gospel from the same unchanging Book.
